This weekend is set to bring changeable and unsettled weather, the national forecaster has said.
While some sunny spells are likely to develop over the coming days, showers are also on the cards, Met Éireann added.
“The weather will be changeable and sometimes unsettled over the coming days with low pressure continuing to dominate,” Met Éireann meteorologist Linda Hughes told the daily weather podcast.
“Today, there’ll be scattered showers, most frequent and heaviest in the north and west, with parts of the south and southeast staying dry.
“Clouds will break up later this morning, and sunny spells will develop. Cooler and fresher than recent days, with highest temperatures of 15 to 18C degrees in a moderate to fresh and gusty westerly breeze,” she added.
The weekend will kick off mostly dry on Saturday, with a mixture of sunny spells, some showers and patches of mist.
It will turn cloudier in the morning as rain and drizzle develop in the southwest, later extending to most areas during the day, with some mist and hill fog possible.
Highest temperatures will range between 15 and 19C on Saturday, and 18 and 22C on Sunday.
Sunday will be a breezy day, with some fresh and gusty winds. It is set to be mostly cloudy, with outbreaks of rain moving eastwards across the country.
Meanwhile, next week will start off dry on Monday morning with sunny spells as top temperatures will range between 15 and 18C across Ireland.
However, it will become cloudy, wet and breezy for the afternoon as a spell of rain moves in from the west.
