The Galway City Local Community Safety Partnership (LCSP) is inviting members of the public to take part in a series of consultation events to help shape the city’s new Community Safety Plan.
Residents are encouraged to attend one of six public meetings taking place across the city from September 7 to September 9.
Feedback gathered during the consultations will help form the Community Safety Plan, which will outline practical actions to address local concerns.
The LCSP aims to identify local safety concerns through collaboration between communities, statutory agencies, public services and elected representatives. The LCSP said that community safety extends beyond crime prevention and law enforcement to include health and wellbeing, social inclusion, community cohesion, the quality of public spaces and ensuring all members of society feel safe and supported.
“The success of the Community Safety Plan depends on hearing directly from the people and communities it is intended to serve,” said LCSP chair Níall McNelis.
“Whether your concerns relate to neighbourhood safety, community wellbeing, youth services, public spaces or social inclusion, your views matter.
The consultation events are open to the public and will take place at the following times and locations:
