Gardaí in Clare are investigating after arresting two youths in possession of knives.

Gardaí received a call to youths acting suspicious in the Clancy Park area of Ennis last Saturday morning, August 29 at 1.55am. On arrival they arrested a youth who had two knives in his possession.

That evening in Killaloe, gardaí were alerted to youths acting suspiciously in the Ballina area at 7.30pm. They arrested a youth with two knives in his possession.

Both youths will be dealt with under the Juvenile Liaison System.

Gardaí in Sixmilebridge are investigating a burglary that occurred on August 25 in the Mount Ivers area.

Entry was gained to a work vehicle by punching a hole above the rear door handle of the van.

The following tools were taken from the van: Dewalt ½” impact wrench, Dewalt garden blower, Dewalt angle grinder, Dewalt hammer action and a drill Dewalt shilsaw.

In Ennis, a bank card that was left in an ATM machine was taken after the injured party withdrew money.

Gardaí are reminding the public to take their card as well as cash when using an ATM and to hide the pin number when entering it.

In Killaloe, gardaí are investigating a theft from three cars parked in Cnoc Ard, Ballina on August 27 between 8pm and 10pm. In one car, the culprits made off with a small sum of money.

Ennis gardaí are also investigating the theft of a caravan from Maunsmore, Clarecastle that occurred on August 29 at 2.30am.

After an investigation, gardaí tracked this caravan and located it in Ennis. A person is under investigation for the theft.

Meanwhile, Ennis gardaí are investigating the theft of an Ifor Williams double axel trailer on August 29 between 5pm and 12am on Sunday from Cahercalla More.

The trailer has the back panel of roof bent, there’s a small hole on left corner of the ramp and the hitch head fitting is new.
