Two planning applications have been lodged with Sligo County Council by Slishwood Property Holdings Ltd in relation to St Angela’s College, Clogherrevagh
The first proposed development seeks permission for the construction of a wellness area including changing facilities, saunas, plunge pool, and hot tub, and the construction of a social area including all associated site works and services.
A separate application, also lodged by Slishwood Property Holdings Ltd seeks planning permission for the the erection of a covered area and a raised platform including all associated site works and services.
Separately, with the new third level academic year about tp start, students and staff travelling to and from St Angela’s College have been reminded to exercise caution on what is a narrow road and to be mindful of the residents living in close proximity to the college.
Addressing the matter after receiving reports from concerned residents regarding cars driving Cllr Marie Casserly stated, “slow down and drive with care.”
Outlining her concerns Cllr Casserly remarked, “This is a narrow rural road with families, elderly residents and young people living along it. While signage is already in place, residents have reported instances of vehicles travelling at excessive speeds, which is understandably causing concern.
“We are also fortunate to have a good public transport service serving the area, and I would encourage students and staff to use public transport where possible, particularly at busy times. Reducing traffic volumes would help improve safety and the quality of life for local residents.”
