Gardaí are on the hunt for thieves who made off from a construction site in county Cavan with a stockpile of high valued power tools.
The incident took place on the outskirts of Virginia sometime between last Thursday evening and Friday morning.
Among the items taken included a selection of drills, a grinder and battery saw.
Gardaí are trawling through CCTV in a bid to identify those responsible and find out how the culprits gained access to the site and made their getaway.
“Gardaí responded to a report of a burglary at a building site at Cuilcagh, Virginia, Co Cavan, which occurred sometime between 6:30pm on 27th August 2026 and 7:30am the following day,” said a garda spokesperson.
“Power tools, including drills, a grinder and battery saw, were stolen.
“Investigations are ongoing.”
