It’s finally here! Katie Taylor will bring her illustrious career to a close on Saturday night at a sold-out Croke Park as she looks to become a three-time undisputed champion when she faces undefeated Frenchwoman Flora Pilli.

Taylor will be the second boxer to headline Croke Park after Muhammad Ali fought Al ‘Blue’ Lewis in the historic venue in July 1972.

Here is all you need to know about this seismic event.

Fans are in for a brilliant night of entertainment, with doors at Croke Park open from 4pm and the first bell at 4.15pm. Aiken Promotions are encouraging fans to show up on time to avoid delays entering the stadium.

Katie Taylor’s ringwalk is expected around 10.10pm, but that is subject to change, depending on the undercard.

The fight is on DAZN globally but ahead of one of the biggest nights in Irish sport, RTÉ have struck a landmark deal to show Katie Taylor’s swansong in front of 83,000 people.

Coverage on RTÉ 2 gets underway at 8.30pm and will conclude at 11.30pm. 2FM will also have radio commentary. RTÉ Head of Sport Declan McBennett said: “RTÉ was there at the start of Katie’s journey as an amateur and we are delighted to be there for the final chapter.“Katie is, and always will be, one of Ireland’s greatest ever sporting icons and it is fitting that she ends her illustrious career in Croke Park in front of a full stadium and a national audience.”

There is a public workout in the Helix on Wednesday September 2, from 6pm, and the ceremonial weigh-in takes place on Friday September 4, at 6pm in Trinity College.

Both events are ticketed.

Pilli is a 29-year-old undefeated boxer from Saint-Avold, Moselle, France. She is 12-0, with her last victory earning her the vacant IBO super-lightweight world title.

She has fought most of her bouts in France but this is not an easy fight for Taylor as she looks to become undisputed champion for a third time.

There are plenty of big fights on the undercard, with Paddy Donovan in the chief support slot as he looks to come through a tough domestic battle with Tyrone McKenna to continue on the road to a world title.

The ‘Carty Party’ arrives on Jones’ Road as Thomas Carty looks for the biggest win of his career over experienced English heavyweight Dave Allen, and Molly McCann continues her switch from MMA to boxing as she fights on the undercard of her cousin, Katie Taylor.

The always entertaining Bobbi Flood kicks off the card, as ‘Flash’ looks to go 4-0 in the stadium where he watched the Dubs with his dad growing up.

Following that, Adam Olaniyan continues his journey as he also looks to go 4-0.

‘Ravishing’ Paul Ryan is looking to continue his journey towards a potential European title fight, as the entertaining Dubliner takes on Paddy Gallagher in a domestic dust-up.

Ryan’s battle against Peter Carr in April was one of the fights of the year, so get to your seats or tune in early for that one.

Finally, Emmet Brennan fights a few hundred yards from his home as the 35-year-old takes on Matchroom favourite Taylor Bevan, knowing a win could mean big things for the 2020 Olympian.
