Aston Villa have announced the signing of Senegal international Ibrahim Mbaye from Paris St Germain in a reported club-record £47m deal.
The 18-year-old winger, who scored at the World Cup, was part of the PSG squad which won successive Champions League titles as well as Ligue 1 twice.
Mbaye’s arrival follows the sale of England forward Ollie Watkins to Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal in a £51m transfer.
Villa continued their squad rebuild from a summer of departures with the signing of defender Taylor Harwood-Bellis from Southampton.
The 24-year-old, who is Roy Keane’s son-in-law, came through the Manchester City academy ranks and had a successful loan spell at Burnley, where he won the Sky Bet Championship title in 2023 before joining the Saints, going on to make 134 appearances.
Harwood-Bellis – whose solitary England cap came against the Republic of Ireland in November 2024, when he scored on his debut – moves to Villa Park in a reported £30m package and will help offset the loss of Ezri Konsa to Arsenal.
