TODAY residents of the sleepy Oxfordshire village of Piddington will vote on securing independence from Great Britain.

The referendum result won’t be legally binding. But it will show the sheer force of their opposition to having more than 1,200 illegal migrant men being dumped on their doorstep.

Piddington is tiny. It has no shop, no pub and no school.

Yet Labour wants to convert a former MoD garrison into accommodation for undocumented asylum seekers who WON’T be locked up.

Potentially dangerous young men will be allowed to wander freely in and out.

When 1,000 migrants go missing every year and Essex County Council sends private security guards on to the streets, how does the Government expect to keep Piddington villagers safe?

Many locals are asking: Where are the voices of female Labour MPs — usually so quick to rightly defend women and girls from male violence?

By ignoring the people of Piddington, Labour is cocking a deaf ear to all our communities blighted by illegal migration.

Unjust giving

LABOUR’S hypocrisy over donations to political parties is breath-taking.

It is up to Reform to prove that the £72million handed over by two crypto-currency billionaires is legal and within the rules.

But for ministers to start bleating that “democracy is not for sale” overlooks Labour’s own record.

Over the past 25 years, the party has taken £52million from Unite, £44million from Unison and £39million from the GMB.

Last year it took £5million from the unions and in 2024 accepted £4million from an offshore hedge fund.

Union leaders have repeatedly demanded extensions to workers’ rights and minimum wage increases. Labour has duly delivered both.

That’s one hell of a coincidence.
