Brookfield Asset Management has landed a US$1 billion commitment from the United Kingdom’s Nuclear Liabilities Fund to invest across several strategies, as the New York-based firm builds a new division that packages and sells multi-asset portfolios.

The money will be handled by Brookfield’s Investment Solutions Group, a unit started last year that targets institutional, private wealth and family office clients. Brookfield plans to invest the capital across its infrastructure, energy, private equity, real estate and private credit strategies through a combination of funds, direct investments and co-investments, according to a statement seen by Bloomberg News.

The Nuclear Liabilities Fund exists to pay for the future cost of decommissioning nuclear power stations in the U.K., and had £20.7 billion (US$28 billion) of assets as of March 2025. Brookfield expects to reinvest profits from the portfolio into new opportunities over time.

Brookfield’s Investment Solutions Group is chaired by Oaktree’s Howard Marks and led by former Morgan Stanley veteran Alper Daglioglu. The unit packages investments from across Brookfield’s sprawling network into custom-made portfolios, rather than simply selling investors individual funds.
