Starting school is a huge milestone for both children and parents, and even choosing a school comes with a lot of pressure – you want to make sure your kids get the most from their education and have their needs met in a supportive environment. No one wants their child to feel like they’re being left behind and not progressing, or, on the other end of the spectrum, feel understimulated and bored.
To ensure just that, Inspired Edge Academy London is offering something completely different in the education space. Open to children aged seven to 11, the school will offer the core curriculum, but as part of an enhanced education programme that goes way beyond it.
Learning based on ability, rather than age

In the mornings, pupils will work from the curriculum, which includes English, maths, science, computing and languages, but on AI-powered adaptive learning platforms while being guided by teachers.
These learning platforms allow for a personalised education model – teachers will adapt them according to how quickly students master skills, rather than be led by their age.
Research from the Educational Endowment Foundation (EEF), an independent educational charity, has looked at what it calls “individualised instruction”, which “involves providing different tasks for each learner and support at the individual level”.
It continues: “It is based on the idea that all learners have different needs, and therefore an approach that is personally tailored – particularly in terms of the activities that pupils undertake and the pace at which they progress through the curriculum – will be more effective.”
EEF’s key findings were that this approach can be effective in increasing pupil attainment and that digital technology can be a useful tool to support the provision of individualised instruction.

The school says their AI-adapted education platforms have been shown to accelerate learning, enabling children to learn up to three times faster than traditional models. Inspired Edge Academy is part of Inspired Education, a global group of 125 schools with 95,000 students, and having used this technology in schools within the group, Inspired Education found there was an average improvement of 8.1 per cent in assessment scores in some subjects after six weeks of learning in this way.
“Children do not learn at the same pace, but conventional classrooms often expect them to. Inspired Edge Academy changes that by allowing pupils to move forward when they have mastered the material, while ensuring those who need more support receive it,” says Mike Lambert, global education director for Inspired Education.
The success of this personalised approach then leaves time for more innovative, real-world classes. In the afternoons, students will get to grips with different subjects and learn real-life skills, such as how to manage an Airbnb or how to construct a drone.

Located at Olympia in Kensington, alongside independent senior school Wetherby Pembridge, Inspired Edge Academy will open in September 2027. Ahead of that, families will have the chance to experience its pioneering teaching model first hand on Saturday 26 September and Saturday 3 October.
These open days aren’t just for parents. To give a true sense of its real-world, future-focused approach, the school will be hosting a hands-on, immersive experience, so children are encouraged to come along too.
Guaranteed to be engaging for both kids and adults, get ready for Impossible Mission: On the Edge, a 90-minute activity that’s part escape room, part engineering lab, part team mission.
An immersive educational activity set across three zones, Impossible Mission will see students take on three challenges – cracking complex codes, building a rescue bridge, and flying and landing a micro-drone.
Each one covers a different skillset or educational area, and allows students to work individually and as a team, encouraging skills like adaptability and leadership. It’ll be a great example of how Inspired Edge Academy thinks outside the box when it comes to education and developing children’s abilities beyond the core curriculum.
