A longstanding Galway business has announced plans to close down after 35 years in the city.
Elizabeth C Beauty on Abbeygate Street Upper in Galway city centre is set to shut its doors for the final time on Saturday, October 3.
After over three decades in business, owners of the beauty salon and supply shop have made the decision to retire and spend more time with their family.
Owners Eilish and Siobhan, who have been collectively working in the industry for 45 years, said in a message to their customers that this is “the right time to let the next generation take over”.
They said: “After 35 years, Elizabeth C Beauty will close the doors for the final time on Saturday October 3.
“It has been a privilege to have met and looked after so many wonderful clients over the years. We have shared the big occasions, the sad events, the birthdays, weddings, christenings, retirements… and it has been a joy.
“After 35 years in Elizabeth C, and almost 45 working years each, Eilish and Siobhan have decided to retire and spend more time with their own families. Our industry has changed hugely over the past 35 years and we feel this is the right time to let the next generation take over.
“A sincere thank you to all our wonderful clients who have kept us busy all these years, you trusted us with your care and we appreciate that. We will miss the chats and the laughs we shared and the friendships we built.
“To the most amazing women that we have worked with over the years, we say a huge thank you for your skills, professionalism and dedication to Elizabeth C. We can honestly say we have worked with the best, and we are so proud of the many ladies who have moved on to owning their own businesses, having started their careers with ourselves.
