US delegation arrives in Kyiv as ceasefire in Russia-Ukraine capitals holds

US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner have arrived in Kyiv as part of a push to revive peace talks in Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
The visit by the emissaries follows a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow on Saturday.
Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy agreed to pause strikes on each other’s capitals while the talks took place.
Mr Zelenskyy said on Sunday that Kyiv was ready for a “constructive” discussion with US representatives.
“We are interested in bringing the end of the war closer. Peace is needed. Security guarantees are needed. A just and sustainable postwar peace is needed. Our proposals are prepared,” he said in a post on Telegram.
