A TEEN boy who stabbed a female teacher in the head after following her into an empty classroom has been locked up.

The 15-year-old brought the kitchen knife to Milford Haven Comprehensive School in Pembrokeshire, Wales.

He then approached Vicki Williams’ desk and asked her to check some of his work.

The teen, who can’t be named, then pulled a large kitchen knife from his bag and stabbed the history teacher in the head.

A “violent struggle” ensued in which Vicki “screamed blue murder” and eventually succeeded in taking the knife from him.

The boy has now been sentenced to four-and-a-half years in youth detention after he was found guilty of wounding with intent but cleared of the more serious charge of attempted murder.

Swansea Crown Court heard the defendant launched “a sustained assault” at the 1045-pupil secondary school in February.

Vicki told the court how he was “cold” and “alarm bells” began to ring in her head when he shut the door to the classroom.

She also said in her evidence how she feared she was “dying” after the stabbing.

The jury was shown CCTV of the teen leaving the school premises following the horror.

He fled to his grandmother’s home, telling her: “Something went in my head, nan.”

Vicki was taken to hospital with a wound to her scalp, scratches on her back and minor cuts to her hands.

Christopher Rees KC, prosecuting, had argued the boy would have “continued this murderous attack” if Vicki did not wrestle the knife away.

He added: “He knows the truth about what he did, he just doesn’t have, I’m afraid, the courage or the remorse to tell anyone about it.

“He brought the knife into school because he planned to attack the teacher.

“Why Vicki Williams? Well, she was, at quarter past three, a lone female teacher, she was an easy target.

“He’s not attacked a male teacher, has he? He’s attacked one of the young female teachers, alone in her classroom.”

The jury reached a majority verdict of 11 to one to convict the boy of wounding with intent after just over four hours of deliberation.
