GREGGS has relaunched a popular bake seven years after it disappeared from counters – and foodies can try it risk-free.

The high street bakery chain has reintroduced the savoury treat to its menu – along with 12 other new seasonal items.

The Greggs Steak and Stilton Bake is back by popular demand today (September 3).

The flaky and rich offering combines diced beef cooked in hearty gravy with punchy blue Stilton cheese and grilled onions, baked until golden in puffed pastry and topped with a black pepper crumb.

With the arrival of the Steak and Stilton Bake has come a host of new autumn menu items.

The Chicken & Pepperoni Pizza Toastie, Pumpkin Spice Latte, Bonfire Toffee Muffin and Buffalo Chicken Baguette are among the items joining the Greggs ranks with the cheesy, beefy snack.

If you don’t enjoy the Steak and Stilton Bake, it can be swapped for a regular Steak Bake at no extra cost, with no questions asked.

The deal is being offered after a Greggs survey of 2,000 people found that 11 per cent of Brits have never even tried Stilton, while 28 per cent avoid it.

Greggs also found that 57 per cent of people would give new foods a try more often if they had “insurance” and wouldn’t lose money if they didn’t like it.

Zoe Harris, customer director at Greggs, said: “It’s been seven long years, and while we know Steak & Stilton has a fiercely loyal fan base, we get that there are still some Stilton sceptics out there.

“Blue cheese can be a bold sell, but we’re so confident this bake will win people over that we’re literally guaranteeing it,” she said of the scheme.

“Consider this the ultimate taste test with zero risk, if you really can’t stand the Stilton, our classic Steak Bake is on us, no questions asked.”
