A TEENAGE girl has died in a horror car crash as family pay tribute to their “beautiful” daughter and driver is arrested.
Harriet Boyles, 19, suffered serious injuries after a Ford smashed into a tree in Armitage, Staffordshire.
Police and emergency crews raced to reports of an accident at 1:35am on Lichfield Road.
Harriet was badly wounded and rushed to hospital on Saturday, August 22 – but tragically succumbed to her injuries four days later.
Harriet had been elected as Head Girl at her school and was due to start an apprenticeship in finance.
In a heartbreaking tribute, her family wrote: “Harriet was a beautiful young woman whose kindness, warmth and caring nature touched everyone who knew her.
“At just 19 years of age, she had already made a lasting impression on the lives of so many people through her compassion, intelligence, and unwavering love for those closest to her.”
Police have arrested a 23-year-old man from Newcastle-under-Lyme on suspicion of driving offences.
Officers are appealing to the public for dashcam footage to help with investigations.
