BOB the Builder is making a surprise return after 15 years – and he’s gone woke.
The cartoon constructor is seen trading in his tools for solar panels as Neil Morrissey reprises his voiceover role for an eco-friendly reboot.

In a new TV ad campaign, Bob tells youngsters to sign up for Net Zero training in a bid to deliver the UK’s clean power target by 2030.
“Even Bob the Builder’s gone woke”, a TV insider joked.
“In what might be his biggest ‘can we fix it’ challenge yet, Bob’s gone from building new homes to hammering people about the climate.”
He is back in his original stop-motion form this week as the face of energy supplier E.ON.

‘Bob the Builder’ told The Sun: “I downed tools for a while but I’ve been keeping busy.
“I took up birdwatching and got into yoga… although I’m still not sure I can touch my toes.
“I can’t sit still for long as there is plenty to be getting on with!
“Homes are changing, things like solar panels and home batteries are popping up everywhere, and we need a workforce that is trained to install them all.

E.ON’s campaign warns there is a lack of skilled workers needed to deliver the government’s target of a decarbonised electricity system by 2030.
In the 90-second advert, Bob is seen returning from a trip to Australia with big plans to change his career by retraining in the energy sector.
