LIVERPOOL are reportedly expected to join Manchester United in the race to sign Alejandro Balde when the January window opens.
Balde is yet to make a single appearance for Barcelona this season, despite being considered an important player.

Head coach Hansi Flick instead appears to favour Joao Cancelo or Xavi Espart on the left side of defence, meaning the 22-year-old has fallen to third choice.
Given his current role in the squad, Balde is being linked with a move away from the Nou Camp in January.
And Spanish outlet Sport claims that Liverpool are interested.
Reds boss Andoni Iraola allegedly believes he would be an interesting addition, especially if the move represents a good transfer opportunity.

Balde has an £856million (€1bn) release clause, although his market value is currently considered to be around £40m.
Man Utd and Inter Milan both considered a move for the left-back during the summer window, meaning Liverpool could face competition if they do attempt to sign him in January.
Balde made 42 appearances for Barcelona last season, but he missed out on a place in Spain’s World Cup squad.
Liverpool have established a good relationship with Barcelona following the loan signing of Ronald Araujo last month.
