Croí, the heart and stroke charity, is bringing its state-of-the-art Croí Mobile Health Hub to Queen Maeve Square, Sligo on Tuesday, 22 September.
It’s part of Croí’s World Heart Month “Heartfest” activities, offering adult members of the public free blood pressure and cholesterol checks and the opportunity to learn vital CPR skills. Anyone interested in attending must book an appointment in advance. Appointments can be booked through the Croí website at www.croi.ie
The Croí Mobile Health Hub will be in Queen Maeve Square from 10am to 4pm, providing free cardiovascular health checks and practical advice to help adults understand and reduce their risk of heart disease and stroke.
The visit, supported by the Michael Guinee Charitable Foundation, forms part of Croí’s Croí In Your Community programme, which brings cardiovascular and stroke prevention services directly into communities across Ireland.
During September, which is World Heart Month, this initiative highlights the importance of prevention in tackling cardiovascular disease, the world’s biggest killer, responsible for over 20.5 million deaths globally each year. Croí is encouraging the public to take proactive steps in protecting their cardiovascular health while also supporting greater national policies to address this urgent issue.
The visit will also include CPR demonstrations, giving members of the community the opportunity to learn more about how they could respond in a cardiac emergency and potentially save a life.
The 13.6-metre Croí Mobile Health Hub is the largest vehicle in Ireland’s mobile health fleet. The multi-purpose unit is equipped with six private assessment cubicles and two consultation rooms, enabling Croí’s healthcare team to provide confidential health assessments directly within local communities.
