Between Then and Now is Iseult McCormack’s exploration of memory and grief through intuitive abstract painting. Working with vibrant colour, layered surfaces, mark-making, spray paint and collage, Iseult explores the fragments, gaps and shifting impressions that exist between past and present.
Running at Signal Arts Centre until Sunday, September 27 with the opening night on Friday, September 18, 7–9pm.
Greystones festival of history
This year’s festival takes place over one day on Saturday, September 19 in Greystones Golf Club. This year’s lectures will be provided by Frank Barry, Professor Emeritus Trinity Business School, David McCullagh, RTE, and Stephen Collins, formerly the political editor at The Irish Times..

Bray Divers sub-aqua club
Bray Divers sub-aqua club was established in 1984 and is based in Greystones Harbour. Membership is open to all over 14 years of age and dives are organised every week throughout the year.
Instructors and leaders are all unpaid volunteers who enjoy introducing people to the marine environment. All the training and certification has worldwide recognition. On Tuesday, October 1 the club will begin training courses, which will include lectures, plus swimming, snorkelling, and scuba training. For more details contact Albert on 0876756439.
New music course
A new evening class for the autumn, ‘Classical Music For Beginners’ starts at BIFE, Bray on Tuesday, September 22, from 7-9pm. You can enjoy great classical music with tutor Sean Kelly Conroy in a relaxed setting with audio visual illustrations. Class handouts are supplied and you can book at bife.ie.
Spaces on many courses on Tuesdays for autumn are also available, including new courses in sewing and upcycling and Psychology with criminology, and the favourites such as yoga, guitar, acting, Spanish, Italian, French and Irish.
First aid course
The Wicklow Local Sports Partnership has a sports first aid course at Greystones Lawn Tennis Club on Saturday, September 19, from 9am to 4pm. Aimed at coaches, instructors, teachers, supervisors, sports assistants, volunteers and whatever you’re having yourself, it’s €45 for the day via eventbrite.
History talk
Local historian Brian White will give a talk alongside Harry Boland, in the Martello on Monday, September 28, from 7pm to 9pm on the firestone boat. A booklet on the subject will be on sale for €20.
Whale gala ball
Following the huge success of last year’s inaugural gala dinner, The Whale Theatre is delighted to announce the return of its annual star-spangled fundraising night at the Powerscourt Hotel on Saturday, October 10.
Comedian Al Porter will MC the evening alongside East Coast FM presenter and Whale Theatre board member Laura Wood.
Award-winning director David Caffrey, whose credits include Love/Hate and Vikings, will say a few words on the night, alongside Susan Collins of The Nualas and The DirtBirds, having recently become a patron of The Whale Theatre.
Guests will be welcomed at 6.30pm with a drinks reception before enjoying a three-course dinner. Tickets for the Gala Dinner are €150 per person from whaletheatre.ie
Christ Church opens doors
Christ Church, on Church Road, Bray, is now open on Tuesday mornings, thanks to the volunteers of the task force. If you would like to come and explore this historic building, or sit quietly in prayer, you will be most welcome to do so.
Bray Comhaltas
Bray Comhaltas has announced that from September 2026, traditional Irish music classes for children and adults will be held in Coláiste Ráithín, Bray and in Gaelscoil na gCloch Liath on Thursday evenings. New members are welcome. Please see braycce.ie or email [email protected]
St Fergal’s Choir
If you would like to join the choir at St Fergal’s in Ballywaltrim, come to St Fergal’s Church on Mondays from 8pm. The choir usually sings at two masses per month and welcomes everyone who loves to take part
Biodiversity workshops
Tidy Towns is running a series of evening classes (for adults only) every second Wednesday until October 28. All classes are free and will take place at 7.30pm in Villa Pacis Parish Centre on the Vevay Road. There is no need to book, just turn up on the evening.
Comedy at the Horse and Hound Delgany
The new Horse and Hound Comedy Club will bring some of the best names in Irish comedy to the heart of the village, beginning with four weekly shows every Thursday throughout September, from 7-10pm.
Each show will also feature a selection of brilliant guest comedians. Aideen McQueen takes to the floor on September 17 and Father Ted star Joe Rooney on September 24. Tickets €17 from Eventbrite.
Teen disco
Happening on Friday, September, 18 at 8pm, the Surge Teen Disco takes place at Greystones Rugby Club and runs until 11pm. Aimed at 1st and 2nd year students, you can grab tickets, priced €21.50 from eventsgrfc.ie.
Let’s Misbehave: The Essential Cole Porter Songbook
The songs of Cole Porter are celebrated on a cool Sunday afternoon with singer Stella Bass and pianist Niall Kinsella, bringing such classics as ‘Anything Goes’ and ‘High Society’ to The Whale Theatre, Greystones, on Sunday, September 27, at 4pm. Booking open now with tickets priced €22.
Gaiety School in Greystones
The Gaiety School of Acting is launching a new term of Saturday drama workshops, running from October 3 to December 5 at Greystones Lawn Tennis Club.
With classes for ages four to 18, the drama workshops build confidence, creativity, and performance skills in a fun, supportive environment and are taught by professionally trained drama tutors.

Greystones social walkers
The Greystones Social Walkers gang take to the trails every Sunday at 11.30am, alternating between mostly flat walks and moderate walks with some hills. You can join their MeetUp group at: meetup.com/greystones-social-walkers-40. There is also a new Monday evening ladies walking group in Greystones, meeting up weekly at 8.30pm. Locations and walks vary.
Danns gigs
The only free live music in Greystones is down at Danns, down in the harbour on Friday nights, with September continuing with Take 2 on the 18th and The Fisher Kings on the 25th, whilst Steve Belton’s Mojo Session kicks off October on the 2nd, The Myle Hi Klub on the 9th, Take 2 again on the 16th, The Big Muddy on the 23rd and Woodsy and co on the 30th.
Making Waves Theatre
Every Sunday, from 2pm to 4.30pm and Monday, from 7pm to 9pm, the Making Waves Youth Theatre group get together, at The Whale and they’re always open to new members. Beating Time Singers
Meeting every Thursday at 8pm, Bray’s award-winning Beating Time Singers were founded in 1998, and today boast more than 25 members. Performing at events up and down the country, the ladies girls are always happy to welcome new members.
Shankill Music Club
The next meeting takes place from 7.45pm to 10pm on Wednesday, October 14, including a tea-break, in the Shankill Seniors Centre, Lower Road, Shankill. The music will be as always a varied programme of classical music on CDs, covering many genres such as orchestral, instrumental, vocal, opera etc. in a friendly setting.
