RACE Across The World star Alfie Watts revealed he is estranged from his family members – following a feud that “boiled over”.
Alfie, 23, won series four of the popular BBC show in 2024 alongside his friend Owen Wood.

In a new interview, he told of tensions between him and the family members who raised him since he was five – after his mother’s death from breast cancer aged 39.
Alfie did not know his father until he was 14 and was subsequently raised by his grandmother in St Albans, Hertfordshire.
Appearing on Matt Willis’ On The Mend podcast, Alfie said: “Me and my family have never got on. I cannot resonate with a giving up attitude.
“It’s not in me and they gave up. That really annoyed me, even from an early age.

“I don’t know why I didn’t have that connection…”
Alfie said he and his relatives had different perspectives after his mother’s passing.
He continued: “I think at that point, they just decided that there was nothing left to live for.
“Even though they had so many years to turn things around and make something for themselves, there was never any passion to go out and see anything, any kind of hobbies, any urge to go and see friends.”

Alfie added how he felt guilty, believing he was expected to have the same level of grief.
He said the gap between them grew further as he became older and more successful – leading to a total relationship breakdown.
Alfie explained: “That has just got worse and worse as I’ve got older and I guess, quote-unquote, more successful.
“And it’s completely boiled over in the past year. We now just don’t talk to each other.”
