Men tended toward strong, augmented shoulders, verging on David Byrne’s boxy suit look. Generally, dresses were either draped and diaphanous or sculptural and moulded, with little in between.

Some of the looks that stood out most occupied a rich middle ground, where stars like Colman Domingo and Ayo Edebiri played with striking colours – brownish peach and fuchsia for him, periwinkle and vermilion for her.
