A man aged in his 60s has died following a four-vehicle crash in Co Tipperary yesterday evening.
The collision, involving a van and three cars, happened on the R688 at Cooper’s Lot in Cashel at around 5.40pm.
The man was the driver of one of the cars and was pronounced dead at the scene.
A post-mortem examination is due to be carried out at University Hospital Waterford.
The driver of the van, a man aged in his 40s, was seriously injured and is being treated at Tipperary University Hospital in Clonmel.
No other injuries were reported at the time.
The road is currently closed for a technical examination, with local diversions in place.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to come forward.
Road users who were travelling in the area of Cooper’s Lot, Cashel, Co Tipperary between 5pm and 6pm yesterday and who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) are asked to make it available to gardaí.
