A total fo 25 new starter homes are now for sale on the Ballymoneen Road in Galway under the Starter Home Purchase Scheme.
Cairn Homes and Galway City Council have released 10 two-bedroom and 15 three-bedroom homes at Slí na hAbhann on the Ballymoneen Road under the Starter Home Purchase Scheme.
The minimum purchase price is between €330,000 and €410,000 for each house.
The scheme is for first-time buyers but buyer’s income and borrowing power must fall within certain limits to qualify. They will need to provide a 10pc deposit and plan to live in the home as their full-time residence.
The local authority can take between 5pc and 40pc equity which can be purchased back at any time. The home should be repaid after 40 years or when the house is sold.
Galway City Council is encouraging interested parties to prepare documentation and research the eligibility necessary to apply.
Applications for the 25 homes will open on Thursday, September 24 at 12pm on the Galway City Council website.
