A hugely entertaining game at the RSC, with the conditions playing their part in a manic encounter. Waterford will be disappointed not to claim the victory as they really pushed late on. Michael Duffy was well positioned in the final minute of injury time to clear off the line from Kevin Long’s backpost header.  7 minutes agoBarry LandyDan McDonnell’s final update from a huge victory for St Pat’s, in more ways than one

Dan McDonnell: Dundalk 0 St Patrick’s Athletic 4. Pat’s go top of the table on goal difference, and that goal difference has been boosted considerably by this trip. They are +26 with Rovers on +17. 8 minutes agoBarry LandyShels chasing an equaliser late in the game

Sean O’Connor: Shels are throwing everything at Drogheda in the final stages but it looks like too little too late. The home crowd screamed for a penalty moments ago as Conor Keeley blocked Daniel Kelly’s strike, but replays showed it came off his chest rather than the captain’s hand. 9 minutes agoBarry LandyGoal! Sligo Rovers 1-3 Galway United (Jimmy Keohane, pen 86′)

A second spot kick success of the night for Jimmy Keohane has sealed three points for John Caulfield’s team in that western derby. Dylan Connolly was brought down by Sligo goalkeeper Liam Hughes. More misery for Sligo who are doomed.  12 minutes agoBarry LandyFULL TIME: Dundalk 0-4 St Patrick’s Athletic League of Ireland on Twitter / XThe Saints are league leaders! pic.twitter.com/sMkvbFMl3v— League of Ireland (@LeagueofIreland) September 14, 2026

Kevin dos Santos, another substitute, has looked lively for Derry since coming on for Darragh Burns. Derry interim boss Mark Connolly has just been booked and one of the Derry substitutes has just been booked for interfering with the corner flag as Benny Couto tried to take a corner. 19 minutes agoBarry LandyGoal! Dundalk 0-4 St Patrick’s Athletic (Ryan Edmondson, 82′)

Dan McDonnell: 4-0 to the Saints. ‘We are top of the league’ is the chant in the away end. Ryan Edmondson’s header loops over Enda Minogue and Oriel Park is emptying out apart from the joyous Saints.  20 minutes agoBarry LandyAt the RSC, Waterford are the team doing most of the pressing in search for a winner with a little more than 10 minutes of normal time remaining.

Sligo still trail Galway at The Showgrounds, having lost their early lead. They have gone close in the second half, with goalscorer Cian Kavanagh and teenager Aidan Gabbidon (making his debut) forcing saves from Hugo de Cunha. 27 minutes agoBarry LandyGoal! Dundalk 0-3 St Patrick’s Athletic (Ryan Sheridan, 75′)

Dan McDonnell: Game over in Oriel Park. It’s 3-0 to the guests and it’s a big moment for Ryan Sheridan who bags his first senior goal with a left footer to the roof of the net after a quick throw from the guests opened up the opportunityLeague of Ireland on Twitter / XRyan Sheridan with his first St. Pat’s goal and what an important goal it could be 👏The Saints are heading top! pic.twitter.com/1kFgAz7spb— League of Ireland (@LeagueofIreland) September 14, 2026

At the other end, Sligo are trailing Galway United and Drogheda are ahead against Shelbourne. If those scores stay the same, Darren Purse’s strugglers will be 11 points adrift at the bottom with just five more matches to play. They would be all but relegated, in reality. With Waterford and Derry currently tied at 2-2, the Blues and Drogs are level on 34 points each.

Six points from the double-header weekend would be massive for Kevin Doherty.  33 minutes agoBarry LandyTeenage star making an impression for Saints

Dan McDonnell: No real stress for St Patrick’s Athletic here. Aidan Keena denied a hat-trick there by an Enda Minogue save after a mazy run and cross from Ryan Sheridan who really does look like an exceptional talent. 34 minutes agoBarry LandyGoal! Shelbourne 1-2 Drogheda United (Leo Burney 57′)

Sean O’Connor: Tolka Park has been silenced. Brandon Kavanagh whips a free kick across the face of goal and Leo Burney break free to head home from close range. Shels just have not kicked in since their opener.

John Russell has seen enough and introduces Ali Coote and Mipo Odubeko from the bench. The latter replaces Rodrigo Freitas, who walks off to the humiliation of being a substitute who has been taken off.League of Ireland on Twitter / XLeo Burney has Drogheda ahead in Tolka!Watch live now on LOITV! pic.twitter.com/bu32ffsGAJ— League of Ireland (@LeagueofIreland) September 14, 2026

And we’ve still got 30 minutes of the fourth game to play. Eakin Howard/SportsfileLoad moreTickarooLive Blog Software
