While Vinny Dingle is having an undisputedly awful time in Emmerdale, having caused a big ol’ car crash that claimed the lives of two villagers, actor Bradley Johnson who plays him is having much happier days.

Taking to his Instagram, Bradley uploaded a cute clip of himself and his now-wife, Sammie Johnstone, sat on a porch swing while pointing to their marriage certificate, faces positively beaming with smiles.

‘Eloped to Nashville. Married the love of my life’, Bradley captioned the post, and the comment section was stuffed to the brim with love, not least from his co-stars.

Lisa Riley, who plays Vinny’s on-screen mum, Mandy Dingle, said: ‘Love love love love and more love coming your way!!! CONGRATULATIONS! many years of happiness! Love from Me and your Uncle AL’, while Natalie Ann Jamieson, who played Amy Wyatt added: ‘Wheyyyyyyyy!!! Congrats guys’

Jay Kontzle, who plays Billy Fletcher, wrote: ‘Congrats, brilliant this mate! Wishing you and your family the very best’, while Laura Norton who plays Kerry Wyatt said: ‘Congratulations to you lovely human being’

Sam Dingle actor James Hooton posted: ‘Congratulations you two absolute beauties!!!!! Amazing’ and Belle Dingle actress, Eden Taylor-Draper followed with: ‘Pair of beauties inside and out’.

Ash Palmisciano (Matty Barton) said: ‘ahh huge congratulations guys’ and Chris Bisson (Jai Sharma) put: ‘Congratulations’ followed by a slew of love hearts.

Amelia Flanagan (April Windsor) wrote: ‘So happy for you both!! Congratulations’ and Kevin Mathurin (Charles Anderson) added: ‘Congratulations guys!’

Bradley’s on-screen boyfriend, Bradley Riches who plays Lewis Barton enthused: ‘MY FAVS I LOVE U SO MUCH’ and Dylan Penders actor, Fred Kettle, added: ‘Yayyy!’.

Bradley previously announced their engagement after having proposed on a holiday in Rome, with the pair later announcing their pregnancy, with the two taking to Instagram upon the birth of their son, Albie.

The Sun reported earlier this year that Vinny and, by extension, Bradley had been axed from the soap, reporting that a source had confirmed that it was due to ITV’s budget cuts.

‘Bradley is a very popular member of the cast and especially close with his on-screen Dingle family,’ said the source.

‘Everyone is shocked that bosses decided to axe him but it’s all part of the ITV cuts and they still need to trim back the cast, they are making less episodes so don’t need as many characters.’

They also quoted the source as saying: ‘Lisa [Riley] is devastated, she adores Bradley and they have such a close bond. It just shows that no-one is safe’

When asked about Bradley’s exit though, Lisa claimed: ‘That’s not confirmed!’ during a chat with the Daily Express at this year’s TRIC Awards.

‘I don’t know where that’s come from! I can’t confirm nor deny. He’s my dream.

‘We are like family. We’re so close. You can see how much we laugh.

‘We’re a family at Emmerdale and we are really happy.’

The car crash that Vinny caused while distracted on the phone to Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham) ultimately resulted in the deaths of Jimmy King (Nick Miles) and Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley), leaving their respective families and, in particular, Jimmy’s wife Nicola King (Nicola Wheeler) and Dawn’s fiancé, Joe Tate (Ned Porteous), utterly broken.

As Vinny struggles under the massive weight of the guilt he feels, Kev Barton (Chris Coghill) is determined for Vinny to keep his mouth shut, so as not to break the heart of Vinny’s boyfriend and Kev’s son, Lewis.

As we all know, though, Vinny doesn’t have a truly bad bone in his body, and when the admissions start coming, so too does massive trouble…
