A Perth man and his two young children have been found dead inside a Bali villa in a suspected murder-suicide.

The deaths of Damien John Shaw, 56, and his two children are being investigated by Indonesian police after their bodies were discovered inside a villa at Arca Bungalow about 10.15am on Sunday.

A six-year-old boy and four-year-old girl were found dead on the floor inside the Kuta property.

Mr Shaw, from Fremantle, was also found dead inside the villa.

A neighbour told police Mr Shaw’s wife raised the alarm after hearing her daughter crying during a phone call with her husband.

When neighbours failed to get a response from the villa, they forced their way inside and discovered the three bodies.

An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of the deaths.

Mr Shaw’s wife is understood to have left Bali for Jakarta about four days before the bodies were discovered.

The family were believed to have been living together in Bali before her departure.

The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade has confirmed it is providing consular assistance to the family.

“Owing to our privacy obligations we are unable to provide further comment,” a spokesperson said.

The investigation is continuing.
