A planning application was sent on behalf of Sandringham and Dersingham Cricket Club, who play at His Majesty’s Norfolk grounds.

The Prince and Princess of Wales — parents to Prince George, Charlotte, and Prince Louis — also have their Anmer Hall country mansion there.

Charlotte showed off her impressive bowling skills in a family video released in May to mark her 11th birthday.

She was seen playing cricket on a sandy beach in Cornwall.

Experts praised her bowling action.

Former England captain Mike Atherton wrote: “Decent run-up — slightly short in the stride, if one were to be critical — good gather and, crucially, a straight arm and energetic follow through, eyes locked on where she wants to land the ball.

“She looks like she’s enjoying it too.”

The new cricket facility is intended for the club’s juniors and seniors.

The application — to the Borough Council of King’s Lynn and West Norfolk — says the artificial pitch will provide an all-weather facility, which would increase “playing and training hours for the local community”.

It would also protect “the natural turf square during wet weather or heavy use”.
