A MAN has tragically died after allegedly being attacked outside a pub.
Cops have arrested a 34-year-old man on suspicion of murder following the “altercation” in Barnsley, South Yorkshire, last night.
Officers rushed to The Star Hotel in Cudworth at around 11.30pm.
The victim, aged in his 50s, was discovered with serious injuries, before being urgently rushed to hospital.
However, despite the best efforts of medical teams, the man sadly died of his injuries, South Yorkshire Police said.
The force quickly launched a murder probe and arrested a 34-year-old man.
He remains in police custody while investigations continue.
The victim’s family have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
Detective Inspector Laura Procter, from the Major Crime Team, urged anyone with information to get in touch.
She said: “This was a devastating incident that has left a man dead.

“Our officers worked at pace through the night to identify and arrest a suspect and we do not believe that any others were involved.
