JAMIE VARDY’s Burnley debut was derailed after a goalkeeping disaster kicked off a nightmare afternoon for the Clarets.
Leicester legend Vardy returned to English football earlier this month for the first time since leaving the Foxes in favour of Serie A side Cremonese.

But his homecoming was far from smooth sailing, thanks in part to a calamitous bit of goalkeeping from young stopper Max Weiss.
The German youth international joined in a reported £4.3million deal from Karlsruher in 2025, and has been promoted to first choice keeper so far this season.
But that status could come under threat after he gifted Swansea an opener after just 14 minutes on Saturday.
Weiss was given an age to clear up an overhit long ball from opposition keeper Lawrence Vigouroux, with Irish international Adam Idah chasing the ball down from a mile away.

But for some reason, Weiss, 22, decided to take a risky touch rather than clearing the ball to safety.
The poor touch popped the ball into the air, where he tried to pass it to his defender – but by that point Idah had closed down the gap and stole the ball off Weiss’ toes before finishing into an empty net.
One fan wrote of the moment: “It’s absolutely embarrassing, he’s probably a lovely lad but he’s an awful goalkeeper Get him off immediately.”
While another harshly added: “Worst goalkeeping performance I’ve seen in Swansea in years.”

Moussa Yeo added a second Swans goal in the 33rd minute before summer arrival Largie Ramazani pulled one back in the second half.
Vardy was finally called upon in the 65th minute, being introduced up front in place of midfielder Ugo Raghouber in hopes of a later equaliser.
But Championship golden boot winner Zan Vipotnik outran Kyle Walker at the back post to add the finishing touches for Swansea three minutes later, sealing three points for the Welsh side.
The loss left Nicky Hayen’s side rock bottom of the Championship table, and one of just two sides in the division yet to record a win.

Their 16 goals against is the worst defensive record in the division, and their eight goals at the other end of the pitch is nothing to write home about.
At this rate Vardy could be in for a reunion of sorts with former club Leicester, who are currently languishing in the mid-table of League One.
