Seven teenagers and a man have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a “knife fight” in a KFC restaurant in south London.
Those arrested include the four males stabbed in the incident in Bromley High Street on Thursday afternoon.
A 21-year-old stabbed in the incident is no longer in a critical condition. Three boys, aged between 14 and 17, were also stabbed.
They are being held in police custody along with four other boys aged between 14 and 17.
Police released the update on their investigation on Friday as they appealed for anyone with information to come forward.
Officers rushed to the London high street to reports of an “altercation” at around 2.15pm on Thursday and the four males stabbed were taken to hospital.
Forensic officers and a crime scene photographer were later seen working inside and outside the KFC restaurant on the High Street and there were evidence markers on the floor. A forensic team remained at the scene on Friday.
The fast food chain confirmed a “serious incident” took place inside their restaurant.

‘Isolated incident with no further risk to the public’
The area’s MP has said police are treating the stabbings as “an isolated incident”.
Peter Fortune echoed the message from the Metropolitan Police that there is ”no further risk to the public” following the incident on Thursday.
In a message shared on social media he also thanked emergency services for their “swift reponse”.
Abandoned food reportedly left on KFC tables
Abandoned food was left on the tables of KFC as yesterday drew to a close, the Guardian reported.
A “knife fight” at KFC between a group of males aged between 14 and 21 left four victims in hospital with stab wounds.
The restaurant closed after the incident, with abandoned food visible from the outside. Several people inside the restaurant are understood to have fled as the incident unfolded.

‘Knife fight’ at KFC
Eyewitness testimonies say that a knife fight broke out between the suspects at the KFC on Bromley High Road.
It has been claimed that a man wielded a machete at the restaurant before running from the scene.
A local business owner claimed to have seen the fight spill out onto the street, according to the BBC.

Is Bromley High Street open?
Bromley High Street was closed yesterday afternoon, sectioned off by a police cordon while forensic investigators worked at the scene.
The high street has since reopened and the cordon was removed yesterday evening.
There is an increased police presence in the area.

The high street in south London is usually a busy place for local residents, but was cordoned off most of yesterday while police carried out enquiries.

The stabbings in Bromley are being treated as an isolated incident, say the Met Police.
Chief Inspector David Cooper, who leads policing in the area, said: “We recognise the impact this incident will have on the local community and officers are working quickly to establish the full circumstances
“There will be an increased police presence in the area and we encourage anyone with information or concerns to speak to officers
“This incident is being treated as an isolated incident.”

London mayoral hopefuls weigh in on quadruple stabbing
Several London mayoral hopefuls have weighed in on the quadruple stabbing on Bromley High Street yesterday.
Laila Cunningham, Reform UK’s mayoral candidate, said she was “devastated” and “angry” in a post on X. She wrote that she refused to believe that London is safe, adding that “we deserve to feel safe in our city.”
Tory mayoral hopeful and former Home Secretary Sir James Cleverly said: “Bromley residents will be rightly worried about events on the High Street this afternoon”. He urged residents to give police the time, space, and backing to “bring the perpetrators to justice as swiftly as possible.”
Sir James’ rival for the Tory candidacy Festus Akinbusoye, a Westminster councillor, wrote on X that he wanted London to be a safer place.
“I hope for the full recovery of those in hospital following the stabbings in Bromley,” he said.
