The Sun Shopping tester put the REM-Fit 4000 Ortho Elite mattress to the test. Here’s her honest thoughts on whether it’s worth the cash…
How much does the REM-Fit 4000 Ortho Elite mattress cost? A UK double costs £649 while a king costs £699.99. It’s the same listing under a new name. REM-Fit’s page carries a “formerly 500 Ortho Elite Hybrid Mattress” note, and the old product URL redirects to the new one.
Who is it best for? If you suffer from back problems or prefer a firm, supportive mattress, this is the one for you. The standout for me was not feeling my partner’s movements, and it’s particularly handy when we get up at different times for work. It’s actually a relationship saver.
What I loved: The support is undeniable, and while it’s much firmer than others I’ve tried, it feels like your body is being properly cushioned.
What I didn’t: I hated the initial chemical smell, but it did disappear within a day.
The 400 Crumbed Pillows on offer are made from memory foam without a solid block inside.
Instead, a ‘crumbed’ foam is used, which makes adjusting the shape much easier.
There’s also a 200-night sleep trial on mattresses, dropping to 100 unless you add a mattress protector to the order.
Again, REM-FIT has dubbed this a September offer, so you may have a little breathing room, but I wouldn’t wait around if you want a bedding refresh before the cold weather kicks in.
