Dan Mills is joining Royal Bank of Canada as a managing director and head of rates sales in Canada, according to a spokesperson.

Mills, based in Toronto, will report to Harleen Bains, head of global markets sales Canada. His “deep client connectivity and breadth of product knowledge will be immediately additive to how we service clients,” Bains said in a statement to Bloomberg.

Mills previously worked at Bank of America in Toronto for more than 11 years. He was at RBC for 8 years before that, according to his LinkedIn profile.

Mills’ hire follows the departure of Kam Bath, a managing director in fixed income sales, who left RBC for TD Securities earlier this year.
