Planned strikes by workers on East Midlands Railway have been suspended after progress on talks about a dispute over safety.
Members of the Rail, Maritime and Transport union (RMT) had been due to walk out next Wednesday and Thursday following previous industrial action.
The strike action has been hitting services from London St Pancras.
The union said there had been “substantial movement” over its complaints about faults on Class 810 fleet trains.
Industrial action short of strikes could still go ahead on Sunday September 20, the union said.
RMT general secretary Eddie Dempsey said: “We all want to ensure a safe railway and RMT members at EMR will remain vigilant in the fight for safety.”
