Passengers travelling on the southside Dart and the Rosslare rail lines are being warned of significant disruption this weekend, as engineering works force the closure of some eight Dart stations and impact services to Wicklow town.
There will be no trains between Dun Laoghaire and Wicklow on Saturday, September 12, and Sunday, September 13, while Dart services will operate only between Malahide/Howth and Dun Laoghaire.
Darts between Dun Laoghaire and Greystones will be suspended, with stations including Sandycove & Glasthule, Glenageary, Dalkey, Killiney, Shankill, Woodbrook, Bray and Greystones closed.
The disruption will also hit travellers in Wicklow town, with no rail services operating between Dun Laoghaire and Wicklow. Rosslare services will run to and from Wicklow town only, while direct bus transfers will operate instead.
The works may be a blow to visitors travelling to Emergency Services Day at Greystones Harbour on Saturday, with rail passengers advised to plan ahead and use buses.
Meanwhile, it’s more of the same for October, when works hit services on the weekend of October 3 and 4, and again on the October bank holiday weekend (October 24 to 26).
