Contracts have been signed for the construction of new social housing in Co Kildare.
Kildare County Council awarded a contract appointing Axis Construction Ltd for the design and construction of the St. Evins Housing project located in St. Evins Park in Monasterevin, Co Kildare.
The project involves the construction of 13 new social homes and is funded by the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage through the Social Housing Investment Programme.
“The delivery of these 13 new homes will further address Kildare’s social housing needs,” said Cathaoirleach of Kildare County Council, Cllr Tim Durkan.
“This project is an important milestone in providing high-quality accommodation for those individuals and families most in need.”
Meanwhile, Sonya Kavanagh, chief executive of Kildare County Council said the project “reinforces our commitment to increasing the supply of high-quality homes across Co Kildare”.
Paul Gallagher, business manager at Axis Construction Ltd added: “This project reflects a shared commitment to delivering high-quality, sustainable homes that will benefit local families and the community for generations to come.”
Construction of the social homes are scheduled for completion in 2027.
