World’s biggest dog festival is taking over iconic English lido this weekend with 16,000 pups

THE world’s biggest dog swim event is set to kick off in the UK in just two days’ time – and will bring four weekends of four-legged fun.

This year marks the event’s 10-year anniversary.

The paw-fect event for furry friends is set to come to Saltdean Lido this Saturday, with the start of the biggest dog swimming event in the world – Dogtember.

Set across four weekends starting from September 12 and 13 until October 3 and 4, pets will be able to run, splash, and swim to their hearts’ delight at the iconic Art Deco location.

Drawing in more than 16,000 dogs last year, the Lido’s heated 40m pool will host four 90-minute sessions and one quiet session each day.

All sessions are open to any breed of dog, however there are a number of Small Dogs and Large Dogs sessions running throughout the day if your pet prefers to be among similar-sized companions.

It also seeks to raise funds for the restoration and upkeep of the historic 88-year-old lido, located just minutes away from Brighton.

Tickets can be purchased online via the Saltdean Lido website, which are priced at £14.85 for a Dog Swim and Human Swim ticket, and £6.40 for a Spectator pass.
