The Lyreacrompane native’s new single ‘Whatever This May Be’ was released on September 10.
Kerry singer Lorraine Nash is this week celebrating the release of her brand new single, the first song from her new upcoming album.
The new single by the Lyreacrompane native is called ‘Whatever This May Be’ and it was released out into the world this past Thursday, September 10.
In what must have been a nice boost for Lorraine, the song, even before it was even officially released, was generating a bit of buzz with RTÉ’s Radio 1 putting it on their recommended listening list this week.
Speaking ahead of the release day, Lorraine said that “it feels really good to be releasing new music again. It feels like it’s been ages. You can expect something very country and Americana, and of course it is because it was recorded in Nashville.”
Not long after the song is released, Lorraine revealed that she’ll be flying back to Nashville for Americana Fest on September 17. Here, she announced that she’ll be joined by fellow musicians, including, multi-Grammy winner, Ron Block, whom Lorraine recorded the new album alongside.
“We are going to be playing through the full album in the Station Inn. It feels really special to play the album live for the first time in Nashville and in the Station Inn which is such an iconic room. I’m really looking forward to that,” Lorraine continued.
“There’s lots of exciting things coming down the line,” she added.
Lorraine concluded by thanking everyone who contributed to her Kickstarter fundraiser for the album that helped to get the album off the ground.
“It really means a lot and it’s helped open a lot of doors and it’s given me a lot of opportunities. I hope you enjoy the first taste of the album,” she said.
As previously reported in The Kerryman, Lorraine released her first album All That I Can Be back in 2023 before releasing a deluxe edition of the same album earlier this year.
She has since made her Glastonbury debut and toured alongside The Hothouse Flowers. At Glastonbury last year, Lorraine played alongside artists that she has admired for years including Nick Lowe, the Hothouse Flowers, Oisin Leech, Billie Marten, Gabrielle Alpin, and The Henry Girls.
