This article contains spoilers for tonight’s (Thursday, September 10) Coronation Street, which has not yet aired on TV but is available to watch now on YouTube and ITVX.
Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) received life-changing news in Coronation Street this week when he was diagnosed with stage three breast cancer.
It came as a huge shock to the detective as he learnt that he would need further tests to determine the best course of treatment, but that a mastectomy would most likely be on the cards.
In the aftermath of his diagnosis, Kit reluctantly confided in Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce), who has since been determined to be there for Kit, whether he wants him to or not.
Tonight, Todd overheard Kit calling in sick to work, making out that he had an emergency dentist appointment.
Of course, he was quick to sus out what was really going on, and eventually Kit admitted that the hospital had called with an appointment for his CT scan.

Later, with no one else aware of what he has been going through, Kit sat alone in the waiting room – until Todd turned up.
Although he made up excuses to explain his appearance, it was obvious to Kit why Todd was really there, and he was clearly grateful.
After the appointment, the two men headed to the Rovers, where Todd pointed out that Kit may need to have chemo and would need support, once again urging him to reach out to his family.
Kit shut down the suggestion, but Todd pleaded with him to think of Bernie Winter (Jane Hazlegrove).
Before Kit could respond, they were interrupted by Lisa Connor-Swain (Vicky Myers), who was less than impressed at having been called into work to cover for Kit.
She wasted no time laying into him for skiving, telling Todd that it was typical Kit to leave all the boring jobs to her.
As Kit left, Todd snapped at Lisa for not reading the room.
Having faced a dressing down from Todd, could Lisa be set to figure out what Kit has been hiding?
