LAMINE YAMAL made history in Barcelona’s big win over Feyenoord as he became their youngest-ever captain.
The teenager was handed the armband in Barca’s 5-1 win over the Dutch giants when Raphinha was subbed off in the 71st minute.
Yamal‘s name went down in the record books as Barcelona‘s youngest captain at 19 years and 58 days old.
And the Ballon d’Or contender wasted no time in leading by example as he scored a free-kick six minutes later to put the Spanish giants 4-0 ahead.
Having already provided an assist for Raphinha’s opener after just three minutes, Yamal then got a second as ex-Arsenal star Gabriel Jesus opened his goalscoring account for the Blaugrana on his Champions League debut.
Former Premier League star Bojan Krkić previously held the record for Barcelona’s youngest captain.

Bojan had captained the team at the age of 20 in a Copa del Rey match against Cueta in 2010.
He went on to star at Stoke for five years between 2014 and 2019 after failing to establish himself at the Nou Camp.
Understandably so, given he was behind the likes of Lionel Messi, David Villa and Pedro in the pecking order during his time as a senior squad player.
Meanwhile, Yamal had no such issues and instantly became a hit at the club.

And Feyenoord boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst was the latest to draw links between Yamal and some Barcelona greats, and backed him to win the Ballon d’Or.
He said after the game: “At his age, he’s won everything. The fans love him.
“He could win the Ballon d’Or. I see him as being on a par with Messi and Ronaldinho.”
