Community groups, creatives, schools and arts organisations across Limerick are being offered the chance to secure funding to shape the city’s Christmas celebrations this year.

A new open call is seeking imaginative ideas for Christmas in Limerick 2026, with a total funding pot of €15,000 available to support successful projects.

Individual applicants could receive between €500 and €5,000 to bring new festive events, performances and experiences to life.

The opportunity is open to a wide range of groups and organisations, artists, community groups, cultural institutions, and schools.

Proposals are being sought for projects ranging from arts and cultural programming to live entertainment, heritage initiatives, light installations and family-friendly activities.

Ideas that animate public spaces, celebrate Limerick’s heritage and create memorable experiences are particularly being encouraged.

The idea is to create a walkable Christmas experience stretching from King John’s Castle to O’Connell Crescent.

The call is centred around the theme Together for Christmas in Limerick.

Funding can be used to support full or partial project costs.

The closing date for applications is 12 noon on Friday, September 18, 2026.
