A rural Wexford parish is set to bid farewell to a priest that has served the area for many years.
Fr Brian Broaders has been serving Ballindaggin, Rathnure, Cloughbawn, Davidstown, and the Bree Pastoral Area will become the Co-PP in Wexford Town, Clonard, Glynn, and Piercestown Pastoral Area.
St Anne’s Church in Rathnure has thanked Fr Broaders for his dedication and support over 13 years.
“After 13 wonderful years of dedicated service to the parish of Rathnure, Fr Brian Broaders is moving on. During his time with us, Fr Brian has been a steadfast presence in the community, guiding us through life’s happiest moments and offering immense comfort and leadership in times of need,” they said.
“His warmth, kindness, and deep commitment to the parish will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him,” they added.
His final mass for the area was held on Sunday, which was followed by a small celebration in the hall for a cup of tea and refreshments, and a chance to catch up and share memories.
