A JEALOUS husband has avoided jail after running over his wife’s lover on the pavement.

Paul Rudd, 58, waited for the pair to leave a pub then drove at Adrian Boakes at 10mph.

Ex-Royal Navy officer Rudd had warned his wife earlier: “I’m going to run the c*** over.”

Mr Boakes suffered a broken nose, torn kidney and concussion.

Rudd called 999, claiming: “He stepped in front of me.”

Mr Boakes was hit in Dodleston, Cheshire, in February.
