Evidence seized in Clare fatal hit-and-run investigation

“Items of evidential value” have been seized by gardaí investigating a hit-and-run in Co Clare last week, in which a 17-year-old boy died.

Bryan Lowe sustained fatal injuries near Clonlara, close to the Clare/Limerick border, late on Friday night.

Emergency services were alerted after he was found unresponsive at Cottage Cross, near Clonlara.

The teenager, who had been on a scrambler e-bike, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A silver/gold coloured Skoda Octavia, believed to have been involved in the collision, did not remain there.

Gardaí carried out a search operation at a number of residential locations in Co Limerick this morning.

In a statement, they said that “a number of items of evidential value” were seized.

It is believed that Bryan may have had some interaction with a group of others in the time immediately before his death.

Gardaí have renewed their appeal to witnesses to the collision to contact Henry Street station in Limerick on (061) 212400, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any garda station.
