A NEW Wetherspoons is coming to a major UK airport next week – and is open “from first to last flight”.
The £3 million pub is inspired by both local and sporting history of the region.
Manchester Airport will open its first ever Wetherspoons next week, with first orders taking place on Tuesday, September 15.
The Belle Vue will round off the new food and drink venues opening as part of a major refurbishment of Terminal 2 that has taken place over the past decade.
The new boozer will be open seven days a week, from the first to last flight of the day, meaning there’s time for a bleary-eyed pint if you’re departing in the early hours of the morning.
Food will be served throughout the day until the kitchen closes at 10pm, and behind the bar, customers can expect a range of real ales, traditional ciders, craft and world beers.

It’s worth noting that the new Wetherspoons is found after security in Terminal 2, so leave plenty of time to get through in order to enjoy a meal without rushing.
In a nod to the history of the region, the pub takes its name from “one of the most popular entertainment venues” found in the North.
Belle Vue Zoological Gardens operated in the east of the city centre for nearly 150 years, welcoming guests to enjoy a variety of animals and thrilling fairground rides.
Travellers can look back at this history through a series of historical photos adorning the pub walls, alongside a selection of new artwork documenting the local area.

Manchester’s sporting achievements are also celebrated throughout the pub’s interior, including a breadth of teams, talents, and sporting moments that have contributed to the North West’s sporting legacy.
A section of the 3,000 sq ft pub has been dedicated to championing individual sporting figures and achievements, with a curated selection of sporting memorabilia woven into the design of the venue.
The Belle Vue will be managed by Jenny Warburton, who previously worked as the pub manager of another Wetherspoons spot, The Mardi Gras.
Speaking on the opening, she said: “Myself and my team are looking forward to welcoming customers into The Belle Vue, and we are confident that the pub will be a great addition to the airport hospitality venues.”
