Eucharistic Adoration
Eucharistic Adoration resumes in Church of S.S. Patrick and Celicia, Kiltealy on Monday September 14th from 10am to 2pm. All are welcome.
Yoga and Mindfulness Classes
Yoga and Mindfulness classes resume in Ballindaggin Community Hall this September. Building on the success of the Monday morning class we have now added a Wednesday evening class at 7pm. Monday morning classes are suitable for everyone of all ages & abilities as you can choose between chair or mat yoga. Wednesday’s class is mat yoga but again suitable for beginners or advanced.
Gary’s classes are a mix of meditation, breathing techniques and healing nidra yoga. Please bring a yoga mat, cushion and blanket for mindfulness at the end of each class. Sympathy
Deepest sympathy is extended to the Family of James (Jim) Doran, Borris Road, Kiltealy and formerly of Walshestown, Ballymurphy who died on Tuesday August 25th. To his sons and daughters Barry, Lorraine, Brian and Leanne and their Mother Mary, also his grandchildren, his brothers Tom, Mick and Justin and sisters Breda, Mary, Eileen and Nora, his dear friend Ann and extended family. Jim was laid to rest in his Ballymurphy Cemetery on Monday following his funeral Mass in St. Patrick’s Church, Ballymurphy. May he rest in peace.
Deepest sympathy is also extended to the family of John Foley, Kilbranish, Bunclody who died on Friday August 28th. to his daughter Elaine, granddaughter Hannah, son-in-law Andrew and sisters Ann, Mary and Martina, brothers-in-law and extended family. He was formerly a native of Cloroguebeg, Kiltealy and son of the late Patrick and Mollie Foley. John was well known in Kiltealy and Ballindaggin area and many regret his passing. He was laid to rest in Kiltealy Cemetery on Monday following his funeral Mass in Kiltealy Church.
Trolly Fundraiser
Ballindaggin Development Group and Tidy Towns are holding a fundraiser in Supervalu, Bunclody this coming weekend, Friday 4th and Saturday 5th September. If you are in the store please support the fundraiser and help keep Ballindaggin looking beautiful.
The group is also having their annual Run/Walk 5K & 10K on September 20th at 9.30am, registration 9am at the Community Hall. €20 for 10K, €15 for 5K and €5 for walkers. Following the walk there will be refreshments and prize giving in The Hall. Eircode Y21D263.

Duffry Social Club
The Duffry Social Club meets in Kiltealy Community Hall every Wednesday from 2pm to 5pm. Come along and enjoy an afternoon of bingo, cards, chat and refreshments. New members are always welcome.

Farewell Mass
On Sunday, 23rd August Fr. James Cullen celebrated his last weekend Mass in the Church of All Saints, Castledockrell. A large crowd attended this Mass for Fr. James who had been in the Enniscorthy Pastoral area since July, 2024 and now moves to the Ferns Pastoral area.
During the Mass the congregation took an active part which made it more special. Reader: Jim Skelton. Psalm sung by Fina Murphy. Prayers of the Faithful read by Gemma Roche and Ger Nolan. Gift Bearers: Mary Bennett and Breda Ryan. Eucharistic Minister: Kay Morrissey. There was a special Mass booklet for the occasion. The choir enhanced the ceremony.
The Chairperson of the Pastoral Council addressed the congregation at the end of Mass and some presentations were made to Fr. James by Mary Whelan on behalf of Castledockrell Prayer Group, Lily Doyle on behalf of Castledockrell Adoration Group and Patrick Jordan as a token of appreciation from the people of Castledockrell. Fr. thanked everyone.
After Mass he was joined in the Parish Hall across the car park for refreshments and chat by a large crowd. A most enjoyable morning on a lovely sunny day.
Thanks to those who prepared the church and the ceremony, reader, prayers of the faithful, gift bearers, Eucharistic Minister, designed and printed the Mass booklet, choir and soloist, those who made the presentations, prepared the hall and tidied up afterwards, donated food, served it, those who attended the Mass and/or the afters. Those unable to attend but sent apologies and good wishes. All help and support was much appreciated. Thank you to all the volunteers.
Welcome
We welcome Fr. Eamonn Salmon to our area. Fr. Salmon will reside in Marshalstown and work in the Pastoral area of St. Aidan’s, St. Senan’s, Marshalstown and Castledockrell. Wishing him health and happiness among us.

Mass Times
Weekend Masses in Marshalstown 7.30pm on Saturdays and Vigil of Holy Days and in Castledockrell at 9.30am on Sundays and Holy Days. During the week Mass in Marshalstown is on Tuesday mornings at 9.30am followed by Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament until 10.30a.m. and in Castledockrell on Thursdays at 9.30am followed by Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament from 10am- 11am. Any change in weekday Mass will be announced at previous weekend Mass where possible.

Mobile Library
There are two Mobile Library stops in Castledockrell each month which is very valuable for locals. The following are the dates from August to December.
Castledockrell National School on Wednesdays from 12 to 12.30pm September: 2nd, 16th and 30th. October: 14th and 28th. November: 5th and 19th. December: 9th and 23rd.
Castledockrell Village on Thursdays 4.15 to 5p.m. September: 10th and 24th. October: 8th and 22nd. November 5th and 19th. December: 3rd, 17th and 31st. Stop times are subject to review on an ongoing basis. Mobile libraries offer a wide variety of books for all ages, membership is free and library members can use any libraries in the whole of Ireland with just one card. Delivery of books can also be arranged for members of the Community who are not in a position to easily move from their home.

Castledockrell Pastoral Council Meeting is on Tuesday, 15th September at 7.30p.m. in the hall.
Get Well
Get well to all from our parish who are ill at the moment either in hospitals, nursing homes or at home. You are in the thoughts of many at this time.

Bereavement
The sympathy of the community is extended to the family, relatives and friends of the late Bridie Nolan (née Quinsey), Garra, Oulart, who passed to her eternal reward on Thursday 27th August and was laid to rest in Oulart Cemetery on Sunday 31st August after Funeral Mass in St. Patrick’s Church.
Bridie was predeceased by her beloved husband Jim and her sisters Kathleen, Máí and Rita. She is deeply mourned by her sons Michael, Raymond and Seamus, her daughters Marie and Caroline, her daughters-in-law Sheena, Ann and Kath, her sons-in-law David and Steve, her 17 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren and by her sister Eileen McGrath.

U-10 Hurling Tournament
Oulart-The Ballagh GAA Club will host the inaugural Phil Redmond Memorial U10 Hurling Development Tournament on Saturday, 5th September.
The tournament is being held in memory of the much-loved Phil Redmond, a lifelong clubman who made a significant contribution to Oulart-The Ballagh both as a player and mentor. Phil was also a well-known and respected member of the Raheenduff community. Six teams will take part in the inaugural blitz, giving young players an opportunity to develop their skills and enjoy plenty of hurling.
The club hopes the event will become an annual occasion celebrating Phil’s life and his lasting contribution to the club and community.
U-14 County Camogie Finalist
Well done to the Oulart-The Ballagh U14 camogie team, who qualified for the County Premier Camogie Final after defeating Rathnure in the county semi-final at the COE, Ferns, on Saturday, 29th August. Congratulations to all the players and management, and best of luck in the final.
Oulart Men’s Shed
The Oulart Men’s Shed is open on Thursdays from 1pm until 4pm. All men in the Oulart area are invited to come to the newly formed Oulart Men’s Shed, located in the former Scouts’ Den. Whether you are interested in woodworking, gardening, repairing things, art and crafts or simply having a cup of tea and a laugh there’s a place for you. Everyone is welcome. Back to School
A busy week lies ahead as students across the parish return to school, with primary and secondary schools welcoming everyone back after the summer break. Best of luck to all students, teachers and staff starting the new school year, and especially to those beginning a new chapter in junior infants, first year and other new classes.
Bottles & Drinks Cans
The Community of Oulart Women’s Society ask members of the community to help them in their fundraising efforts by putting empty drinks cans and plastic drinks bottles in the C.O.W.S. collection bin that is situated outside the Upper G.A.A. Pitch
C.O.W.S. events
The C.O.W.S. continue to meet every second Tuesday night, in Oulart Community Centre. The Crochet/Knitting /Crafts/Chats take place in “The Crazy Bear” on Thursday mornings.
The Annual General Meeting of the C.O.W.S. will be held in Oulart Community Centre on 29th September and the ever popular Craft Fair will take place on 22nd November.
C.O.W.S. outing
The C.O.W.S. enjoyed a busy few days, with a visit to Áras an Uachtaráin on Friday, 28th August, followed by a group outing to Wells House on Saturday evening to enjoy the fantastic production of Mamma Mia. It was a lovely opportunity for members to get together, enjoy two very different outings and make some great memories.

Farewell and thank you – After just two short, quick years, Fr. Gahan departs from us this weekend to take us his new appointment in Carnew/Tomacork/Shillelagh/Coolfancy.
We thank him for his dedication, devotion, administration of the sacraments and for being a source of strength to this community. He was very accommodating and always made himself available to anyone in need. His deep commitment to the parish will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Fr. Gahan, thank you for walking beside us in faith and helping us grow closer to God. In appreciation for all you have done in our Parishes, may God continue to bless you.
