Heritage Week–Walk to Old Mellifont

What a fantastic turnout for our Heritage Week walk to Old Mellifont Abbey! A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the day such a success. Special thanks to the OPW and the Heritage Council for making this wonderful event possible. Great company, local heritage, fresh air and a little bit of Abbey magic — what more could we ask for?

Advocacy, education for mental Health

Back to School

Health & Well Being Classes

Flower Arranging Classes

Irish Dancing Classes

Big Changes at Community Centre

There has been massive work going on behind the scenes in Tullyallen Community Centre and now it’s time to show off what’s new. The organizers would like to say a huge thanks to the Louth Leader Programme and our amazing community, everyone’s hard work has transformed the Community Centre space into a hub for sport, work, and connection.

They now have professionally marked courts for basketball, badminton, and pickleball, complete with all the gear you need – including height-adjustable basketball nets for all ages and skill levels. But they can now also offer their hot desk room with full fibre broadband that is perfect for remote working, plus a boardroom for up to 10 people to host your next big meeting or just relax in style and enjoy the new coffee area seating, which is the perfect spot to recharge, chat, or network. So, whether you’re there to play, work, meet, or unwind, Tullyallen Community Centre has the space, the facilities, and the welcome waiting for you. Social Dance

It’s all go in the Tullyallen Community Centre this Friday when Matt Leavy will take to the stage for the Tullyallen Social Dance. This promises to be a fantastic night of music, dancing and fun right here in our village. Polish your dancing shoes up and head on over to the Community centre this Friday night, 4th September. Doors Open: 8:00pm and Music is at 8:30pm – 11:00pm. There will be light refreshments included on the night and admission is just €10, with payment at the door. Come along for a great evening of dancing, great music and community spirit while supporting your local community centre.

Well done Tullyallen Macra Na Feirme

On Saturday 22nd, Tullyallen Macra pulled a two-tonne Vintage 135 Massey Ferguson Tractor from Dolly’s Bar in Rossin Co. Meath to the Entrance of Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda Co. Louth all in aid of NECRET. Cancer is a cause close to the hearts of the group, and they are incredibly grateful that they have chosen to do this event in aid of NECRET to support the work we do for cancer patients, research and care. They would like to say Thank you to all who got involved from organising the event, pulling the tractor throughout, getting behind such an amazing cause and doing it all together. A special thank you to Karl Vaughey for organising the event and all in the club for making it happen, Dolly’s Bar for giving the support to the group from being the starting point and keeping the night going after with refreshments and holding the Raffle for the group. And to all the amazing, determined members of Tullyallen Macra and the community a big Thank you as none of this could have been done without any of the community effort that went into the day. and we are so Grateful. Parish News

Season of Creation: 1st September to 4th October. We are hoping to celebrate Mass for the Care of Creation (Missa pro custodia creation is during this time, and we will announce a date for this Mass. This Mass was approved by Pope Leo in 2025 and is encouraged to be celebrated during the Season of Creation. We will conclude the Season of Creation with our Harvest Weekend Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th October.

Our Parish choir will return from their summer break on next Sunday, 6th September at our 11am mass. Our Choir is seeking additional Choir Members. Weekly Mass Ministry: Leading Sunday Liturgy 11am from September through June Solemn Feasts: Serving at Christmas, Holy Week, Easter, and major solemnities Through sacred song, choir members help draw the faithful into deeper prayer, glorify God, and sanctify our worship. If you feel called to offer your time and vocal gifts to this essential ministry, we warmly welcome you. Please speak with Maura Callan Music Director after Mass or contact 0863772985

First Friday: September 4th Adoration at 7pm followed by Mass for List of the Dead at 7:30pm. Sick and housebound will be visited.

The next Rosary in our Cemetery: will be this Sunday 6th of September at 2:30pm. We hold the Rosary in the Cemetery on the first Sunday of the Month and each Sunday in November at 2:30pm. All are welcome!

Adoration: Friday evenings at 7pm before the 7:30pm Mass.

Reminder, Sick & Retired Priests–Feast of the Assumption: This fund ensures that those who have spent their lives in service to our faith community are supported in their retirement and senior years. You can contribute using the designated blue envelope 15th August in your box, blue envelope at church doors or you can drop in a donation to our sacristy for this cause. On Tuesday, 25th August the Morning Star hosted a jackpot draw worth €1,400 and the numbers were: 15, 19, 22, 27. There was no winner. The Lucky Dip Winners are Ruby Palace–Lisa McShane, Milanos–Sarah Drew, M & M Meats–Pa O’Brien, Inside Out–Nadia Abidi. Next week’s jackpot is €1,500 which will take place in the Morning Star, Tuesday night. Art Classes in Tullyalen

The ever-popular Art with Ally classes is returning this September. Why not sign up for a creative new term exploring Treehouses & Woodland Adventures through drawing, painting and mixed-media projects. Classes are ages 5+ and start Tuesday 1 September, 3:15–4:15pm or 4:30–5:30pm. This is a 7-week term and costs €105. Wednesdays from 2 September, 4:30–5:30pm, this is also a 7-week term and costs €105. Saturdays from 5 September, 10–11am which is a 6-week term and costs €90. All art materials are included. Boyne RFC Girls

Word has gone out from Boyne Rugby Football Club for new members. This one is aimed at the Under 12 Girls, so if you were born between 2015 and 2016, this might suit you. This is a fun way to build fitness, learn new skills and make new friends. Contact 089-417 7273 for further details.

Dance Classes for Tullyallen

Good news for the kids that like to dance. Xtreme Style Academy is starting a brand-new class in Tullyallen Community Centre, starting next Wednesday 9th September. This will cover Hip Hop, Musical Theatre and Contemporary Dance, so lots of different styles are included. There will be 3 age groups catered for. Age 3-6 will be from 4 to 5pm, Age 7-10 is from 4pm and age 11+ is from 5 to 6pm. There will be Shows and Optional Hip Hop Competitions. What better way to have fun and build confidence. Irish Dancing Classes in Tullyallen

Why not go along and join the Irish Dancing Class in Tullyallen this September. It’s a great way to make new friends, have loads of fun and learn to dance in a welcoming, friendly environment.
