An insidious sister takes her sick games to a new level, a villain hits a new low and young love is on the menu next week in Coronation Street.
After toying with Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) and Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon), Jodie Ramsey’s (Olivia Frances-Brown) attention returns to her sister, Shona Platt (Julia Goulding), and her cruel manipulations cause her to question her sanity.
With her dad, Doug (Steve Evets) and husband, David (Jack P Shepherd) around, can they save Shona from her wicked sibling, or will she continue to pull the strings of everyone around her?
Speaking of Bethany, she continues to struggle in the aftermath of her ill-advised night with Kit, and when she attracts the attention of Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott), Kit encourages her to go for it, but will sparks fly?
Ross Wilkes (Ian Burfield) risks his relationship with recently-discovered son, Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall), with some truly heinous comments about female-on-male domestic abuse – can he fix things or will Tyrone see his dad for who he is?
Elsewhere, Summer Spellman (Harriet Bibby) agrees to a date with a stranger, Glenda Shuttleworth (Jodie Prenger) incurs the wrath of Ben Driscoll (Aaron McCusker) and Carl (Jonathan Howard) worries about his mum, Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney).
That’s enough teasing, I reckon. Let’s jump into the spoilers!
Monday, September 14
Jodie continues to mess with Shona, who’s struggling to hold everything together, and reminds her that she needs to make a cake for Lily Platt’s (Grace Ashcroft-Gardner) school sale. Jodie basks in her sisters misery, while Doug and David arrive home to find the kitchen full of smoke and Shona asleep on the sofa.
After Tyrone digs at Ross for how much time he spends at their house, Ross expertly diverts the conversation into one about UFO’s. When Tyrone later retells the story to his friends, Ross is unimpressed as they take the mickey.
Elsewhere, Bethany walks in to Kit blowing off a woman he’s brought back to the flat, while Summer has one of her drawings stolen by Marco (William Teasdale), later finding it in the window of a tattoo shop.
Tuesday, September 15
Bethany is forced to face Sarah at the prison and, while attempting to hide her own guilt, tells her that Kit has moved on and is seeing other people. Seeking solace with Ryan in the pub, her temper flares again when Michael Bailey (Ryan Russel) reveals that Carla Connor-Swain (Alison King) has given him Sarah’s job at the factory.
Jodie sabotages a bath Shona has run for Harper with boiling water, and her plan works perfectly when David rails at Shona for nearly scalding their daughter. As Shona pleads for forgiveness, Jodie listens to Gemma Winter-Brown’s (Dolly-Rose Campbell) stories of post natal depression and begins to scheme.
Meanwhile, Ross pours scorn on Richie’s story of his wife abusing him in front of Tyrone, while Summer confronts Marco, who asks her on a date.
Thursday, September 17
Jodie continues to mess with Shona, attempting to destroy her confidence with cruel digs before her lunch with David, with Shona later coming home to hear Harper crying but finding the annexe locked. Asha Alahan’s (Tanisha Gorey) concerned when she finds Shona in Victoria Garden with Harper and smells wine on her breath.
When Glenda posts a video of Susie Price (Aurora Bradshaw) singing and dancing on the Rovers’ website, Ben is horrified at a potential breach in safety, while Glenda reckons that she should sign up for Little Big Shotz, seeing huge potential in her.
Also, Ross begs for Tyrone’s forgiveness after his remarks about female-on-male abuse, Bethany goes on a date with Ryan after Kit encourages her, Asha’s nervous about returning to working with Sienna Milburn (Charlotte Tyree) and Summer confides in her friends about Marco.
Friday, September 18
Lisa Connor-Swain (Vicky Myers) piles pressure on Kit or find Luke Cookson’s (Isaac James) murderer, and when he bites back at her, she turns to Bernie Winter-Alahan (Jane Hazlegrove) with her concerns, while Kit accuses a lad and chases him, clearly looking for a scrap, and turns up later to family pizza night with two black eyes.
Shona continues to hear Harper crying, but when she looks for her, she finds her in David’s arms, happy and smiling. Heading to the doctors alongside David, Shona takes a nap later, giving Jodie plenty of opportunity to continue manipulating David.
Concurrently, Debbie forgets dinner with Ronnie Bailey (Vinta Morgan) and lies to cover herself, concerning Carl, Ben’s furious at Glenda for encouraging Susie’s performing and Summer tells the girls she’s having another date with Marco.
