Yoga and Mindfulness Classes
Yoga and Mindfulness classes resume in Ballindaggin Community Hall this September. Building on the success of the Monday morning class we have now added a Wednesday evening class at 7pm.
Monday morning classes are suitable for everyone of all ages & abilities as you can choose between chair or mat yoga. Wednesday’s class is mat yoga but again suitable for beginners or advanced. Gary’s classes are a mix of meditation, breathing techniques and healing nidra yoga.
Please bring a yoga mat, cushion and blanket for mindfulness at the end of each class. No need to book, just turn up and bring a friend. €10 per class. Contact Joan for further details on 087-0923412. Classes begin on Monday Sept. 7th 9.30 am and Wednesday 9th 7 pm.
Shopping Trolley Fundraiser

Mass Times
Weekend Masses in Marshalstown 7.30pm on Saturdays and Vigil of Holy Days and in Castledockrell at 9.30am on Sundays and Holy Days. During the week Mass in Marshalstown is on Tuesday mornings at 9.30am followed by Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament until 10.30a.m. and in Castledockrell on Thursdays at 9.30am followed by Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament from 10am- 11am. Any change in weekday Mass will be announced at previous weekend Mass where possible.

Mobile Library
There are two Mobile Library stops in Castledockrell each month which is very valuable for locals. The following are the dates from August to December. Castledockrell National School on Wednesdays from 12 to 12.30pm September: 16th and 30th. October: 14th and 28th. November: 5th and 19th. December: 9th and 23rd.Castledockrell Village on Thursdays 4.15 to 5p.m. September: 10th and 24th. October: 8th and 22nd. November 5th and 19th. December: 3rd, 17th and 31st.
Stop times are subject to review on an ongoing basis. Mobile libraries offer a wide variety of books for all ages, membership is free and library members can use any libraries in the whole of Ireland with just one card. Delivery of books can also be arranged for members of the Community who are not in a position to easily move from their home.

Eucharistic Adoration
Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament continues in Marshalstown Church each Tuesday from 10am to 10.30am after morning Mass. If there is no Mass Adoration will be from 9.30a.m. to 10am. Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament continues in Castledockrell Church each Thursday from 10am to 11am after morning Mass. If you are in a position to attend one or both of these sessions of Adoration our Parish you would be very welcome. New adorers always welcome.

Bereavement
The sympathy of the community is extended to Olywn McKenna and family, Oulart and the extended Dempsey and McKenna families, Oulart and Belfast on the sad passing of Martin (Marty) McKenna at Waterford University Hospital on Tuesday 1st September.
Martin is deeply mourned and will be sadly missed by his beloved and loving wife Olwyn and their children Ruairí, Finn and Cillian, his sisters Mary and Fionnuala, his brothers Francis and John Paul, his mother-in-law Chris Dempsey, brother-in-law John Dempsey, work colleagues, neighbours and many friends. He was predeceased by his parents John and Gemma McKenna and his father-in-law, Tom Dempsey.
His Funeral Mass was held in St. Patrick’s Church, Oulart on Saturday 5th September after which he was laid to rest in Oulart Cemetery. Solas na bhFlaitheas dá anam uasal
House of Stories
The next session in the Bygone Days House of Stories will take place on Monday 14th September at 8pm. All are welcome to come along and enjoy a night of music, song and story in the traditional Thatched House, in Lower Oulart. Refreshments will be served and there is no admission charge. A raffle will be held on the night.
C.O.W.S. “Meet & Greet”
The Community of Oulart Women’s Society, whose motto is “Láidir le Chéile” (Strong Together) will host a “Meet & Greet” evening in Oulart Community Centre on Tuesday 15th September, in Oulart Community Centre, beginning at 8pm. Everyone, from all areas is invited to attend, to hear and see first-hand what the C.O.W.S. are all about. Light refreshments will be served and a display of activities undertaken by the C.O.W.S. will be on show.
Regular C.O.W.S. Meetings
The C.O.W.S. continue to meet every second Tuesday night, in Oulart Community Centre. The Crochet/Knitting /Crafts/Chats take place in “The Crazy Bear” on Thursday mornings. . The Annual General Meeting of the C.O.W.S. will be held in Oulart Community Centre on 29th September and the ever popular Craft Fair will take place on 22nd November
Beach Walk
Wexford Branch of Down Syndrome Ireland will hold its annual Beach Walk on Saturday 12th Sept 2026 at Cahore. Every cent raised will go directly to provide vital Speech & Language, Occupational Therapy & other therapy sessions for the benefit of children and adults in County Wexford with Down Syndrome.
Come along and bring a friend or two, make a donation on the day, take the long or short walk, (1.5 km, 3km, or 6km), enjoy the refreshments and entertainment afterwards and delicious food in The Strand Bar. Check Down Syndrome Wexford Facebook page / Instagram pages for further details.
GAA & Camogie Fixtures
Our Senior hurlers will contest the Wexford Preliminary Quarter-Final versus Faythe Harriers, next Sunday, 13th September, in Wexford Park, beginning at 2pm. The Senior Camogie team will be in action on Friday night, in the Centre of Excellence, Ferns, when they will play Kilrush, in the championship quarter-final, with throw-in at 7.30pm. Oulart-The Ballagh Under 14 hurlers will travel to play Rathnure on Saturday 12th , with throw-in at 10.30am.
U-10 Hurling Tournament
Last Saturday Oulart-The Ballagh GAA & Camogie Club hosted the inaugural Phil Redmond Memorial Under 10 Hurling Blitz, featuring St. Kevin’s Dublin, (coached by former Oulart-The Ballagh player, Emmet Rice), Mount Leinster Rangers, Carlow along with Ballygarrett, Realt na Mara, St. Martin’s and Oulart-The Ballagh, Wexford.
The standard of hurling was very high and all the young players derived great enjoyment from their participation in the tournament in memory of Phil Redmond, former player and life-long Club supporter. Congratulations to St. Martin’s on winning the Cup Final, by narrowly defeating the home team and to Ballygarrett on winning the Shield Final.
A special mile buíochas to the Redmond and Sinnott families for their support and involvement and to Phil’s nephew, Pierce Redmond for kindly providing the Perpetual Cup and Shield for the tournament which will be organised annually. Sincere thanks also to all the people who helped make the blitz such a success.
Oulart Men’s Shed
The Oulart Men’s Shed is open on Thursdays from 1pm until 4pm. All men in the Oulart area are invited to come to the newly formed Oulart Men’s Shed, located in the former Scouts’ Den. Whether you are interested in woodworking, gardening, repairing things, art and crafts or simply having a cup of tea and a laugh there’s a place for you. Everyone is welcome. Walking group
The social walking group continues to meet every Monday at the GAA Club grounds 10.30am to 11.30am. All are welcome male, female, all ages and ability. Walk at your own pace and enjoy a chat and a cuppa afterwards, so come along any Monday that suits.
Glenbrien Parish Draw
The winners of the August draw were – 1st prize: Niall & Ann O’Byrne. Runner up prizes: Liz Leacy, Martin & Martina O’Byrne, Joan Kavanagh and Martin & Mary Shanahan. Congratulations to all winners. The September draw will take place on Sunday 27th September.

RATHNURE
Welcome Fr Orr
A very warm welcome to Fr Tom Orr as he begins his ministry in Rathnure, Templeudigan. Fr Tom has been working in the New Ross area for some time and most recently in the Horeswood, Ramsgrange, Duncannon, Templetown Pastoral Area. Fr Tom will make his Holy Communion calls for the First Friday starting on the week of the 7th September.

Old Schoolhouse Exhibition
Step inside the Old Schoolhouse on Friday 18th September from 4pm-9pm for an evening celebrating the artists and craftspeople of our community. Painting, photography, textiles, drawing, sculpture, ceramics and woodwork will fill this much-admired building, with refreshments and food to share, and music from 7pm-9pm.
The Old Schoolhouse is at the centre of a project led by the Rathnure Community Development Group to bring this building back to life as a creative community hub and cafe, and this is your chance to see what it could become. All welcome
