Bree Vintage Club Run
Bree Vintage Club annual road run will take place on Sunday 20th September. Registration from 11.30am, leaving Byrne’s Grain Yard at 1pm. Proceeds in aid of Parkinson Wexford Branch.
Bree Baby & Toddler Group
Bree Baby and Toddler group has resumed on Thursdays at 10.30am in Bree Hall. Admission is €2 per family. Look forward to seeing some old and new faces.
Clothes Recycling Bins
All Clothes Recycling Bins have been removed from Bree Community Centre. Clothes can be recycled at local charity shops or local Recycling Centres.
Tennis Coaching Courses
Children’s and Adult Tennis Coaching Courses begin from week beginning 14th Sept. on a weekly basis for 6 weeks at Bree Community Centre Tennis Courts. Community Games
The Bree Davidstown Cloughbawn area were well represented in the national Community Games Finals in Carlow last weekend. Blaithin Kavanagh, Seosamh Kavanagh, Joseph and Theresa O’Donoghue got the 4th place medallions in the U16 Group MusicU16 Group Music. Ella Carberry took part in U13 Recitation, Seosamh Kavanagh in U13 Solo Musicb and Theresa O’Donoghue in U16 Solo Music.
Bree Hall Library
All books have been replaced in the Community Centre Library. Hall is open on most days, except Sundays, from 9pm to 4.30pm. Donations of books can be left in at the library at any stage and are most welcome.

Clonard Bethany Bereavement Support
Have you experienced loss? There is a Drop-in Service on the 2nd Friday of every month in the Shamrock Room of Clonard Community Centre from 7.30pm to 8.30pm.
Next Drop-In Service takes place on Friday 11th September. Feel free to drop in for a cuppa and a chat. All are welcome. This service is supported by trained volunteers.

Family Liturgy Group – Clonard Family Liturgy Group is now recruiting new members. Build confidence, make new friends and explore our faith together. CROSSABEG
Development Lotto
Crossabeg/Ballymurn GAA Lotto numbers for September 2nd. The numbers drawn were 1, 15,19 & 26. There was no Jackpot or Match 3 winner. Two Lucky Dip winners received €25 each, Ann Doyle and Pam O’Leary. The next draw takes place on September 9th and the Jackpot stands at €12,000.
New P.P. appointed
Last weekend a warm welcome was extended to Fr. Chris Hayden, P.P. as he celebrated his first official Mass in Crossabeg church on Sunday morning. We wish him well in his new appointment here in Crossabeg as well as in Oylegate and Glenbrien.
Death of popular resident
His family, neighbours, friends and indeed the wider community in Crossabeg and beyond were saddened to learn of the passing of Laurence (Lar) O’Leary Whitefort, Crossabeg, who died on Friday last, September 4th.
A family man of a quiet disposition with a smile on his face, he was a popular, hardworking man, who worked earnestly for his family, but could also find time to help others who needed help or advice. He took a keen interest in local parish activities too, always willing to lend a hand, being involved with GAA; Parish committee; Chairman of the Senior Citizens Fundraising committee, among others, where he gave one hundred per cent commitment.
He will be sadly missed, particularly by his extended loving family. Pre-deceased by his loving wife Joan, son Laurence (Lar) and baby Michelle, he is survived by his sons and daughters Jimmy, Marion, Martin, Annette, David, Dermot, Brian, Joanne, Alan, sisters Josie and Catherine, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sons and daughters-in-law, extended family and friends.
He reposed at Kearneys Funeral Home on Sunday afternoon with removal to Crossabeg Church on Monday for 11 o’clock Requiem Mass, followed by burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Rest in peace Lar.

The Barntown Squash Club Split the Pot winner this week was Alice Dunne. The prize money for the draw that took place in Marty Bs, on Sunday 6th September was €210 and it was the lovely Flo who helped us with the draw. Our winner Alice bought her winning ticket in O’Brien’s Londis, Larkns Cross.

Well done to the Glynn-Barntown kids who represented Wexford so well in the National finals in Carlow over the weekend. Nessa, Roisin, Eoghan, Nicole, Ruth, Grace, Aoife, Eimear and Tamara. Well done to Nessa on her silver medal for U10 Art and Aoife for her silver medal U8 Art.
Condolences
The community would like to extend deepest sympathy to David O’Leary and his family on the recent sad passing of David’s father Lar. (David is a coach with Glynn/Barntown AFC and Camogie/LGFA U10 Manager) May his gentle soul Rest in Peace.
Sympathy is also extended to Ger Sweeney and his family on the passing of Fr. Ollie Sweeney, former parish priest Templetown/Poufur. May he Rest in Eternal Peace.
Our thoughts and prayers are with both families at this difficult time.
