A call to action to support Big Beach Clean 2026 and help the RHKEG and Clean Coast volunteers do litter sweeps along our local beaches. Our Beach Clean will take place on Saturday 19th September. Please meet in the carpark at the Church at 10am.

Local volunteers joined with other stations across the South East to participate in the National Services Day Parade and Displays which took part on Wexford Quay on Saturday 5th September. National Services Day is to remember, honour and celebrate the men and women of the frontline and voluntary services throughout Ireland.

SuperValu supporting the Very Pink Run

Congratulations to the staff at Murphys SuperValu who recently supported the Very Pink Run 2026 Fundraising Campaign with all funds raised making a difference to Breast Cancer Ireland. A great team effort – you were brilliant!

Bereavements

Sympathy is extended to the Kinahan family, Westwinds, Kilrane on the recent sad passing of Pat. Condolences to his daughter’s Madeleine and Linda, daughter-in-law Ami, grandchildren, brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends Pat, late of Castleknock, Dublin was pre- deceased by his wife Madeleine and son Robert.

Sympathy also to Claire O’Rourke and family following the death of her mother, the late Mary O’Brien, Jamestown, Piltown, Co Kilkenny who passed away on 26th August.

Condolences also to the son, daughters, grandchildren and extended family of the late Emer Giddy, Kilrane and formerly Athy Road, Carlow who passed away last week.

We also extend condolences to Dr’s Frank and Maeve Hogan on the sad and untimely passing of their beloved Susan.

May they rest in peace.

Ballycogley Players Drama Group

The cast of our full length circuit play for 2027 “Not Now Darling” by Ray Cooney & John Chapman has been announced as follows: Arnold Crouch–Sean Carthy, Gilbert Bodley–Edward Hayden, Maude Bodley–Siobhan Murphy, Miss Tippdale–Amanda Farley, Jane McMichael–Trish Boyce, Harry McMichael–Chris Maddock, Mrs Frencham–Catherine Murphy, Commander Frencham–Michael Gilbert, Sue Lawson–Amy Cassidy & Mr Lawson–Harrison Rossiter McGuire. Thanks to all those who auditioned for the play and we wish director, Fr Pat Mernagh and his cast & crew the very best over the next few months.

We are delighted to let you know that Ballycogley Players have formed a Youth Theatre and are now calling all secondary school students…unlease your creativity, collaboration and stagecraft skills at our workshops all about fun and imagination. Kilrane Rosslare Harbour ICA

120 Years of Rosslare to Fishguard Ferry Service – Congratulations to all involved in bringing this exhibition to fruition. An excellent collection of precious memorabilia, photographs, paintings, stories and items of particular interest to people who have been involved in the history of the development of Rosslare Europort over the last 120 years.

The Rosslare Harbour Maritime Enthusiasts welcomed hundreds of visitors and sincerely thank everyone who came to support them. Any new supporters will always be welcomed to their permanent base at the Rosslare Harbour Maritime Heritage Centre any Saturday from 12 noon to 4pm.

Rosslare Community & Sports Centre

Membership 2026 – We hope that all of our young friends have settled into their new classrooms. The centre is open until 9pm every night, with our earlier weekend closing times shortly; plenty of time to get in a game of tennis, padel or a quick round of crazy golf.

A number of our regular Autumn groups are returning to the Centre, including sewing classes with Noeleen, Judo with Fabiola, Lisa’s Shine Bright Drama groups to name but a few. Keep an eye on our social media or contact the Centre for details. If you’re looking for a birthday party venue, meeting or other event, our indoor facilities might be the answer!

The Fort Room can hold up to 40 people and offers wifi, presentation facilities, ample power sockets and easy access to kitchen facilities. Our newest facility, The Grove Room, is available to hire for smaller groups, meetings and events, offering dedicated bathroom and kitchen facilities. Badminton Club – Join our friendly group at Rosslare Community Centre on Wednesdays from 7.30 to 9pm and Saturdays from 11am to 12.30pm. €3 per person per session. For more information contact Isabel on 087 9192550.

Rosslare Active Retirement Association

While we enjoy our coffee mornings each week we also look forward to our outings.

What’s currently happening in TAG centre:

Monday – WWETB Literacy Classes: 10am-1pm. Zumba Classes: 6.15pm-7.15pm. Art Classes for kids: 6pm-7.30pm.

Tuesday – Day Centre for the Elderly. Bingo: 7.30 start.

Wednesday – Day centre for the elderly. Forever Fit classes: 2.15pm-3.15pm. Kids martial arts classes: 6pm-7pm. Pilates: 7.30pm-8.30pm

Thursday – Active Retirement meeting (first Thursday of every month).

Friday – Yoga: 10am-11am. Chiropodist: First Friday every month, 9.30am-12.30pm

We will be having extra classes returning soon, including Line Dancing and Chair yoga classes.

Hidden Treasures Charity Shop – Open Monday-Thursday 9am-4.30pm, Friday 9am-3.30pm, and Saturday 10am-2pm.

Taghmon United split the pot

Congratulations to our most recent winner of Taghmon United AFC split the pot, Darren Roche, winning €566. Thank you to everyone for your support.

Camross Drama Group

The group are busy rehearsing three One Act plays for the coming season. Our Festival play, ‘Jack Fury’ will compete in five festivals, namely Goresbridge, Ballyduff, Co Waterford, CAT Club, Cork, Gorey and finish in Doonbeg, Co. Clare.

All three plays will perform locally, 17th and 18th October in Camross Hall, Sunday 8th November in Carrig on Bannow and Friday 27th and Saturday 28th November in Wexford Arts Centre. Rehearsals are in full swing with a lot of lines to be learned.

ICA Mummers

Camross ICA Mummers are back rehearsing after the summer break. They will perform at the Hands and Heritage Festival at Sigginstown Castle, Tacumshane, on Saturday 19th September at 8pm. They will be accompanied, as usual, by Joan, Peter and Phil and coached by Sean Sinnott.
